This classic creole dish becomes quicker and easier thanks to Hillshire Farm® Smoked Sausage and ready-seasoned packaged rice. This easy jambalaya recipe is made with andouille sausage, chicken, uncooked rice, bell pepper, onion, celery and spices, all cooked together in just one pan.
Instructions to make Sausage jambalaya:
- Dice veggies. Meanwhile boil water and bullion cube until completely dissolved
- In a skillet sautés sausage and yellow onion about 5 min or until onion starts to soften. Add green onion and Bell pepper another 5 min.
- To sausage and veggies add water mixture tomato sauce seasonings, diced tomatoes, and rice bring to a fool storing occasionally to prevent rice from sticking.
- Reduce heat and simmer covered, stir occasionally, for another 20 min or until rice is done.
- Note.. Some people add a little hot sauce to give an extra kick.. Be warned a little goes a long ways.
The main ingredient in this recipe is obviously sausage. You can use any smoked sausage that you like but we prefer TWR smoked sausage because it has no additives.
