Pour the chocolate cake mixture to the rice cooker pot and place it on the rice cooker and press cook as if you're cooking rice. In a rice cooker bowl, spray with cooking spray if your rice cooker bowl is not non-stick.
Instructions to make Rice Cooker Chocolate Cake:
- Line the base of rice cooker’s inner pot with baking paper. *Note: If your inner pot is in a good state, baking paper would be unnecessary.
- Place Cream, Chocolate and Sugar in a large heat-proof bowl, heat in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes, then mix well until smooth using a whisk.
- Add lightly whisked Eggs and Vanilla OR Rum, mix well until smooth. Sift in Flour and combine well.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared rice cooker’s inner pot and press ‘Start’ button at ‘Cake’ setting.
- Take out the inner pot and let it stand for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack. Carefully peel away baking paper. Dust with Icing Sugar.
Place all cake mix ingredients together in the rice cooker bowl. Spoon half of the chocolate frosting in the middle of the cake batter. Place the bowl in the rice cooker and push the cook button. (My rice cooker has a slow cooker option, so I pushed that. The biggest difference between baking a cake in a rice cooker and in an oven is that you will have to be more vigilant when "baking" in a rice cooker. The reason behind this is because the "cook" button will pop up around five times before your cake is completely baked.
